Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is an automatic identification method, relying on storing and remotely retrieving data using devices called RFID tags or transponders. An RFID tag is an object that can be attached to or incorporated into a product, animal, or person for the purpose of identification using radio waves. Chip-based RFID tags contain silicon chips and antennas. Passive tags require no internal power source, whereas active tags require a power source.

1. RFID - Technology Video - Video that details the use of RFID technologies in the supply chain

2. Using RFID to Keep Access in Check - World leading provider of long range radio frequency identification (rfid) technology for train & rail applications, access control, automatic vehicle identification (avi) and supply chain management.

3. The future of RFID

4. RFID Microchips - STORYTODAY does some updated research on uses and progress of RFID Microchips

5. RFID in Healthcare - RFID in health care: Optimising patient logistics, material use and blood supply in the surgery complex of the AMC hospital

6. RFID Privacy - A look at the challenging requirement of anonymity in RFID systems.
After a discussion on proposed solutions to the privacy threat you will see how easily such solutions can be circumvented or completely broken.
By looking at the physical characteristics of the tags, Karsten will demonstrate how new attacks can circumvent these solutions, some of which have been implemented in a lab. There will then be a look at the back-end infrastructure of the RFID system which will show that the currently outlined implementation will compromise privacy in ways that have never been anticipated - basically allowing for customer tracking over the Internet by everyone.
